Start here: introducing diatonic

The piano is a marvelous instrument: a whole orchestra at your fingertips, as many people have pointed out to me over the years.
However, even though I loved listening to piano music since childhood I didn’t start playing the piano myself until about 18 months ago … in my late thirties!
I had some lessons in my final high school years, but rarely practiced.
Then came college, work, life … and while I always thought about picking up the instrument again – I strangely never did, thinking that as an adult “it’s too late anyway”.
Fast forward into my late thirties: In 2021 I signed up for an online class at Berklee online, the online program of the renowned Berklee School of Music.
The course was called “Keyboard for the electronic musician” – and through this course I truly fell in love with the piano. This time I practiced, I finished the 12-week-course … and signed up for piano lessons with a local teacher in my area soon afterwards.
I’ve been playing the piano ever since. And couldn’t be happier. In case you’re wondering: My progress is slow, my hand independence is still bad, but I am loving (almost) every minute I get to spend at the instrument. So if you’re an adult and thinking about picking up the piano: It’s never too late, believe me!
So why start a blog, too? Being an amateur player now I started to read music and piano books, browse the web for piano related content … but I also wanted to establish my own platform or magazine: Featuring interviews with pianists and other editorial content that is hopefully relevant for beginners, intermediate players, or even professionals.
It’s a side-project and I am only just starting. So please be kind!
Helpful feedback is always appreciated. I’ll try to add new content every week.
Thanks for stopping by today!
